Queenstown will be the first place in the South Island to host a programme designed at encouraging youth entrepreneurship.
Creative HQ has opened applications for the Venture Up 2019 programmes in Wellington and Queenstown.
It marks the first time the programme has run concurrently in two separate regions, and the first time it has been run in the South Island.

Calling young entrepreneurs
The four-week, fulltime programme is designed to provide a realistic experience of entrepreneurship.
Startup Queenstown Lakes’ AJ Mason said Venture Up was a “place where you can put creativity and innovation into practice”, and the organisation was “delighted” to host it in Queenstown.
Since the inaugural programme in 2015, Venture Up has worked with 126 young adults.
Programme director Lingy Au said it was exciting to expand it into Queenstown “where we can offer more youth the opportunity to take part in a proven model that expands the possibilities of youth starting on their own entrepreneurial journey.”

Applications close on November 2.
